ACK.

FACEPALM.

May 25. FACEPALM DAY. I just usually rant on Twitter but I feel like blogging this so okay, here goes a rant for all my efforts wasted on that Wednesday.

Went to some place alone just because. Gone through a bad weather (a typhoon), heavy traffic and a jam-packed train. Arrived alive. Waited til the evening. But only for nothing. Forced to go home because there's nothing to expect and look forward to. Wasted a day. The end.

Forever alone moment.

Hate the fact that I can't do nothing but facepalm all my feelings for that day. If only.

This is what it feels like.

(On the left corner are the books I've read this year, while on the right corner are book I have yet to read)

I bet this is what it feels like to be unemployed. I just finished my internship for broadcast but I haven't started my On-the Job-training for print yet and I'm aiming to have one after the Holy Week but for now these books will keep me busy.

I. Books I've read
: Kiko Machine Blg. 5 Venn Man- Manix Abrera, Mga Kaibigan ni Mama Susan- Bob Ong, Daddy Long Legs- Jean Webster and The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde- Robert Louis Stevenson.

II. Future read-list: To Kill a Mocking Bird- Harper Lee, Great short works of Mark Twain- Mark Twain, The Return of Sherlock Holmes- Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Sherlock Holmes: The complete novels and Stories Volume I- Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Me and Mr. Darcy- Alexandra Potter, The Kitchen God's Wife- Amy Town, The Murder in Mesopotamia- Agatha Christie, Portrait of a Lady- Henry James and Where the heart is- Billie Letts

Most of these books were second-hand. I hoarded them intentionally for summer vacay but it turns out that I'd be spending most of my time on my OJT, however, for now that I still have my free time I'd be reading these along with the E-books I downloaded for my Kindle.

What was I thinking really, I can't stop myself from buying books. If I see one that's good enough for my taste and the price is good enough for my pocket I'd go buy them even when my stock of books are still piled up. I know, books are to be read and not just meant to be stocked. My friend always tell me that, but, I still feel like buying them even when I have a lot already. Here goes my impulsive self again. Don't you worry, I promise I will read them when I have time.

P.S. That's the reason why my Twain book's with my friend already. Only because it's been with me for a long time and still haven't read a page of it. My bad. Sorry, my beloved books.

III. Additional to-reads: A million little pieces- James Frey and 4 Archie Comic Digest courtesy of Ate Mary.

So, I bought another book at Booksale and these comic digests arrived from New York. Thank you, Ate Mary!

Oh my, my read-lists are getting longer but I love it. I'll never get bored with a book in hand. For now I will just control myself and stop buying books. Err. But that won't keep me from visiting bookstores.

Whatever happened to A.Y. 2010-2011

...and to everything else in between.

I drafted this blog some days ago thinking of what to write because the school year was just full of emotions that I can't put it into words.

Like every school year, there are a lot of stories to tell with this one. Happy ones, sad ones and undefinable ones. Of course, all of those things are what's keeping it worth remembering. To say the least it has been one of the hardest school years so far for I've got to deal with a lot of things aside from school works. There's a lot of pressure going on especially on the latter part where I have to organize the things needed for my internship this summer. Luckily though, I got over all the hardships and passed the subjects not with flying colors but still just right and something to be thankful for. After all the shoots for PhotoJourn, schedule mishaps, shoots for ArtApp Docu, long hours in front of my laptop editing and transcribing videos, interviews here and there, editing of research papers. it's all done and I'm off to face another one this coming June. A big one, for it'll hopefully be my last year in UST. Oh yes, that fast already. We'll be the official Quadricentennial Senior batch by May 31. I don't know what to feel with that but I'm glad I've overcome six semesters already. So whatever happened to Academic Year 2010-2011 will just stay there. And whatever I will feel this coming school year is something that I am looking forward to.

Surprise, surprise!

In an hour and 5 minutes I will turn 20.

(At least when I drafted this post. January 21)

My college friends love surprising friends who celebrate their birthdays. When I was about to turn 18, some of them attempted to surprise me. You know, just the usual. My crush as their gift, but of course they failed so until now I haven't received any surprise, not even once. Because I warned them that I hate surprises. I have this weird anxiety attack (Which I hate but keep on happening at the most unexpected times of my life, ugh.), even though the thought of seeing my crush on that special day makes me want it more, I just can't. I might get frozen or what. Nearly heart attack perhaps, oh well. My nervousness really is annoying and exaggerated and I don't want that to happen in front of the man of my dreams. Who wants that to happen anyway? It's shameful. But given the chance I listed the 10 surprises I would like to be prepared for me, on my birthday or on Valentine's Day. I know these are really impossible things to ask, but this is just me and my playful imagination. Plus these really are intended to be impossible. Who knows? It might just happen.

1. Wake up and see my love on my bedside holding a bouquet of flowers and a big bear and see trails of roses on my room traced with the sentences "Happy birthday" or "I love you." --Cheesy, I know. But it takes a lot of effort. And I'd surely appreciate anyone who'd be brave enough to do that. But first, you should ask for my parents' permission because it's our house anyway.

2. Be given a book which has a ticket to Paris inside or a concert ticket of my favorite artists would do. --That would be so lovely.

3. Come home from school and have a surprise birthday party with all the people I miss.-- This is cliche, I like it just like in the movies. I just want to know how it feels like if it's happening to me.

4. Enter a roomful of my favorite things and food from my favorite people.

5. A video with all the birthday greetings from my favorite people, crushes etc.

6. Get a call from everyone whom I haven't seen in ages. From my favorite people.

7. Have someone sing me my favorite songs on stage if possible. Like that on TV, whenever they surprise celebrities.

8. Receive tons of love letter from my favorite people.

9. Have a dance with all my crushes. --I sound like I'm 18 here. HAHAHA!

10. Be taken to that lovely place somewhere down south and have a candle lit dinner wit my love. (That place will remain secret, though.)

Some are just impossible. One, I don't have a love. Second, some are just too expensive. And some take serious effort and time. Too golden that you would not want to expect.

P.S. I'd love to have a ride on a hot air balloon with someone. Someone who I don't know yet.

Now make that the 11th surprise.

#2010 was...

(Bring it on 2011!)
I don’t know what word will suit it best but I am still hashtagging the year that was. It has been my tradition to blog every 31st of December so yeah.
Tap tap tap goes my nineteen year-old self blogging on the last day of the year. Last day of the milennium decade. Last year of being a teen. Can you believe it?
That fast. But oh well, 2010 was nevertheless good. Although I ranted, cursed and sobbed almost everyday of my life, 2010 has been considerate enough.
I cannot count the memories I weaved all throughout the year, good or bad, I learned and I am very much thankful for that. The 2000 decade was also good, Thank God! Congratulations, we survived 2010!
(GPOY: I knocked-out 2010!)
Cheers to my teenage years! I am saying goodbye this early so that I won’t see myself in state of denial on the day that I turn 20. I look like a kid, but yeah I am turning 20 this January. You can’t do anything about aging. Nobody can escape, so 20s, I am welcoming you this early. Embracing my oldness if there is such a thing. Hurrah! I’m glad I knocked out 2010 alive and kicking. This goes to the past 19 years of my life as well. I hope we’ll all have a kick-ass year ahead.
For the new people I met, new experiences I’ve had and abundant blessings I received, I am raising my glass! For the people who stayed and cared, I love you! Cheers to you all and thank you for being part of my life in the past 12 months and should I say, 10 years. It was all worth it. We have another year to share with, and I am only hoping the best for all of us. Forget about what’s making us sad and hurt, let’s all be happy, have a heart-ache free, healthy and smooth-sailing year. I’m sending all the good vibes and luck. Let’s make 2011 epic. Be better! You know I love you! Make 2011, mine oh mine.
For now let’s just savour the hours left for 2010, enjoy the Fs: food, fireworks, friends and family! Happy Strong New Year!
Love, peace and happiness for everyone! Attraversiamo this new decade! <3
To God be the Glory!

First sem A.Y. 2010-2011: Photo-blogged

If I were to describe the First Semester I've had, I'll use a line from Eminem and Rihanna's Love the way you lie, "I can't tell you what it really is, I can only tell you what it feels like..".
Exactly that, because it is hard to describe but in five words it is:
1. Sleep-depriving- Sometimes I don't even sleep. Now, my body clock's reversed. Screwed. I'm always alive during the wee hours of the night. Turned zombie. I.need.to.restart.my.bodyclock. Seriously.
2. Too hectic- deadlines here and there, write. write. write. (even when writer's block happen almost every time that I needed it) Juggled three editorial tasks along with quizzes, projects and exams for I was an EIC for a group in Lit, Assoc Ed for a group in Feat and Features Ed for a group in NPM. Tiring but I got through it easily because of good and helpful colleagues,Thank God!
3 and 4.Fun and memorable- I got to meet awesome people, cover events, do things I've never done before, gained a lot of experience with a rollercoaster of emotions and taught me some tough lessons (good or bad), travel, have photoshoots, sleepover, interviews, learn a lot of things, practice them, and get good grades in the process. and I guess that is why it ended as #5. Fulfilling. The word itself says it all.

I think these aren't enough though, in a span of almost 5 months so much has happened and I guess it'd be more vivid if I put them into photos. Let's include the non-school related stuff as well.

June

June 16, 2010.Wednesday. Taken right after Sir Nestor Cuartero's first Feature Writing Class meeting. After this day, so much has happened. A magazine project etc.

July

July 9, 2010. Watched this for free! I'm a sucker for concerts that I joined a contest on radio. Thanks to U92FM for this opportunity. I was hella lucky to win tickets especially that this is THE USHER. Totally made me OMG!

August

Met two Legendary personalities. National Artist for Literature, F. Sionil Jose at the Annual Journalism Seminar and Manix Abrera, my favorite cartoonist!

September

Mona's 18th and Trojan Women shoot for Achaean Lith magazine. I had fun on both.

October

Had a free Walk this way tour, courtesy of the Mr. Carlos Celdran. I was also able to interview him for Halo-Halo magazine and Metro Bullet News blog. He was the man of the hour then because of the Damaso thing and I was lucky he agreed for an interview.

There are several memories to share but those were just some that encapsulated over the past five months. I know second sem will add more to these. I am looking forward to that.

Let it be

"Sometimes it is better to let things happen rather than insisting on how you want them to be done."
I got this message from a friend, didn't realize he sent it twice until I tried deleting messages from my inbox and saw it. He sent it on different months but it only made sense just now.

People say we should not let things happen because we make things happen, I beg to disagree. It's not at all times that we can make things happen, sometimes we try hard to make things work yet it's still not enough. It sucks really. I sometimes wonder if it's only a challenge so one can have what he/she really deserve. But what if you've already done too much? Ain't it a sign that what you want is really not for you? I'm sorry, I don't have the answer either. I'm trying to figure it out as well. I'm currently reading Paulo Coelho's The Alchemist and there's this part which can be related to this. The main character Santiago is in search of his destiny and his dream but life's being too hard on him. The question now is it time for him to give up when he's nearing his destination? or Will he strive hard even when there's no certainty that his dream will come true? It all boils down to risking once again.

It's like he tries everything to make things work, it's been doing good, then when he's finally nearing completion, something happens and ruin things. It's like he's against all odds. It may not be about perfect timing because everyday he try yet it's still busted. Then he decided that' it's about time to surrender and just let things be. Maybe it's a good joke of fate. Nobody knows.

It's still an open-ended question. I'll leave it hanging until I found the right answers.

Random mumblings

My calendar says October 28.

It means today is enrollment day (I just enrolled earlier), Second sem is just around the corner, Semestral break's about to end (Oh no, oh yes!) and there are only three days left before November starts.

Happy Halloween, guys!

I've been MIA for months, and like the usual I'm here again blogging because I have been busy and I felt the urge to write again. Writing not because I need to, but because I want to. There are many things going on in my head right now. It's 11:31 pm on the clock and yet my senses are wide awake. (Probably, slept too much) I just feel like writing. Random. This time it's not about me updating you with my life. I just write whatever comes out from my thoughts which were lately, only in my head. I promise I'm going to post this before 12 midnight, because if not I guess it's not October 28 anymore. And I totally know it didn't made any sense.

It's ironic how my thoughts flow yet I can't put them into words. Maybe this is what they call 'cluttered-brain'. Well, yeah, I'm thinking maybe that's it.

Have you ever felt you think too much? I do. Always. People. Things. Food. Philosophies. Ideas. Dreams. Anything and everything. I actually think I over analyze things, like on simple decisions. I just realize how I think too much. Say for example a simple choice whether what to wear on this and that takes time.

Red? Pink? Black? What color? T-shirt? Dress? Pants or skirt? What if it didn't fit to the occasion? What if someone wears the same? Is it tacky? Do I look good in it?

Questions go on and on and the more questions and answers I have, the more confuse I get. They say life is complicated. I think it is too. But they were right when they said that we're the only ones who complicate things. If we only learn how to not care, then decision-making will be easy. Maybe we're afraid to make certain choices because we are scared of the outcome. Life is always a risk. We'll never know if we'll never try. Sometimes I think that it's better to not risk. You won't get hurt. Wise decision? No. It's just a safe one. You're not bound to get hurt or any but you'll never be happy either. So what am I saying? Ah, I just thought that in risking we may see good and bad. We will. Been there, done that. Whether it's a good thing or a bad thing is not on our control. We just have to savor it, after all it is our decision. Don't regret if your decision fails, it's a good thing that you tried and risked. It made you wiser and gained you experience anyway. Life is always hard. It will never be exciting if it is easy as we want it to be.

Five minutes left before 12 am, so I am ending this now. Don't know if I made any sense or if I helped or tickled your neurons with what I wrote. In all honesty, I'm not sure why I wrote that, because like I said I just let my hands type the words in my head. Let me just say that I am no wise at life, I fall down too, but those are just my realizations that I just felt like sharing.

Today is October 28. And it's been three years since. Three long years. What this means is for me to know and for you to find out.

The inevitable is coming soon.

This is the beautiful message from God:

On this day of your life, Rosette, we believe God wants you to know ... that inevitable is best accepted with serenity.
Message from God
There are times when you absolutely see no solution. When you've thought and thought and prayed and prayed; when you've sat still in meditation listening for an answer and still no answer comes. There are times when it's okay to just surrender.

That suits me best.

Many of my friends on FB swears that this Facebook application is one of the best. Somehow, what it says really fits what they feel. Most of the times it does. Not only for them but also for me. The message above is just one of the proofs. For the past few days, weeks, months I've been dreading the inevitable but just as the word suggest it is inevitable and I can't do anything about it. I have no power to fight it. In as much as I use all the strength and will power I have to control it, it will still happen just because it is meant to happen.

In case you are wondering what that inevitable thing is, those are actually events I do not want to happen but I'm certain will happen. More likely the future. But something negative on the future because not everything is bad after all. Often times these inevitable I'm dreading, I deal by ignoring or by forgetting but when it come I start to worry again but just as the message above says, I should surrender it. I know I should but I just can't stop worrying and ranting about those things or events I do not want, however I know it would not do anything so I should just let things be. I may resort to giving up but I should not instead, I should surrender these problems/worries/fear to God. That's the best way to deal with it. Face fears with faith. Let things be come what may.

You don’t expect stuff to happen. You can’t control it. You can’t control anything.-Sophia Moore

We must bear in mind that whatever heavy thing we held too long will only give us pain so we might as well let it go. In that way, we'll be able handle things lightly. Worry-free. And we'll have this relief we've been longing.

"Do not pray for an easy life. Pray for the strength to endure a difficult one.-Bruce Lee

7056th day

7055th day on Earth. But because it's 12:30 am it's now my 7056th day. Yes, I've been living that long. Love it or hate it.
The message right there makes sense we must be grateful of this life. Our clock's ticking, the hour glass is running out of sand, so we should go and make the most of it.

What happens when I'm bored

When you have nothing to do because it’s summer. Over-think. Oversleep. Slack off. Grab a pen. Write your thoughts. Fill the spaces of your paper. Talk it out like you’re on a real conversation. Sing a song to hype up your mood. And to divert yourself from the heat. Eat healthy foods, that you may not eat once the school year starts. Take pictures, of people, of places, of things that captures your eyes’ desires. Walk around and see the beauty outside your window. Move along. Lay down. Close your eyes. Seize the moment. Breathe and smile for you are free.

9 things for 2009

So much for the heartbreaking dramas, sudden deaths, scandals, storm aftermath, gruesome massacre, anticipated volcanic eruption, YEAR-ENDER SEVERE COUGH for me and all those crappy memories, we can now say: “I SURVIVED 2009” jumping, shouting, or even raising your middle finger whichever way you want it, because the calendar marks just reached the last day of 2009, we’re just counting hours and it’s 2010.

“A chance to change one’s self, a chance to be a hero, a chance to heal a nation” - Studio 23 ad (I cannot remember the exact words but at least that’s the thought)

9 things to be thankful for in 2009:

1. My eighteenth birthday- Yes, I’m a registered voter now! Still alive and 19th is fast-approaching!

2. HongKong Trip- Disneyland one more time. Nathan Road, Avenue of Stars, walking down memory lane, can i just go back?

2.1 count in my other domestic travels Subic etc, and the concerts I’ve watched, great shows, looking forward to more of it on 2010.

3. Acads- May not be the best but at least surviving NS101 is unexpected. Achievement? LMAO.

4. Surviving Ondoy- I know, we all hate Ondoy’s visit.. but hey, here we are celebrating New Year’s eve!

5. Laptop dear- I have no name for it, but it has been my companion for my late night paper works and insomnia-moments.

6. Health- no serious illness this year except for this severe cough, and the wisdom tooth which bugged me for days and oh, a lil fever I had. A healthier 2010 please!

7. 2JRN3- My college block. They really are awesome people. Me loves them all!

8. Friends- could not name you all but you know yourselves, Me thanks you for 2009! For the friendship and everything. me loves you too!<3

9. Family- Relatives and cousin dears included, awesome gatherings we had. More of it on 2010. Me loves you also!

To God be the glory.

Au revoir 2009, Bonjour 2010!:) The year of the TIGER. Go USTe!:)

May we have more Efren Penafloridas, peace, love and happiness! Happy New Year everyone! Have a prosperous and peaceful one! God Bless us all!

I’m hearing fireworks and Auld Lang Syne. Cheers to food and us! Bow, Tumblr.

*I posted this on New Year's Eve, the former were posted 2009.*

Cycle of Life

I was not a fan of those “I will take the moon and the stars just to be with you” pick-up lines of a guy. I see no truth behind that anyway. Maybe I’m just too cynical to believe. There’s more to love than that. It’s not about receiving 3 roses and note cards with chocolates, not that candle-lit dinner even. Although, those are sweet, mushy, cheesy, moments any girl would not refuse to take. But I see love in the simplest ways, words uttered could not even compare to the feeling.
The blushing cheeks, the “I-can’t-stop-smiling feeling”, the “I-can’t-get-you-out-of-my-head thought”, the “awww moments” and the “I-can’t-live-without-you mentality”. It’s heaven I tell you. But one should never be attached, realizing that the more you get used to something the more it’s harder for you to let it go when it’s time to take away whatever you have that you can’t let go.

That’s the sad reality of not having forever, having change as the only thing constant. Plus the fact that people always leave, true enough. And what’s new right? We always have that someone who wishes to leave with or without reason, a friend, special someone, relative, family member, whoever. We just can’t force them to stay. Never. If it’s God’s will, things will just happen. We lose but we also gain in the process, we just have to get used to it and we must never forget them.

The cycle of life. You live, you love, you let go and you move on. People should never depend on somebody so it wouldn’t hurt in the end after all losing means having something new, who knows maybe that that something could be the thing that you always wanted?

Text twist and something

Picture this, you and your close guy friend’s playing Text Twist way way back dinosaur ages, where lol (laugh out loud) doesn’t exist yet. (You probably live under a rock that time, but wait, there’s PC already!) But anyhows, The word is “Easily”, smart that he is he figured out the word in less than 30 seconds, he just needed to fill the three-letter word spaces left for him to complete the round. As we sometimes think, smart people knew complicated things, but the simple ones harder for them to solve and figure out. Lost as he was then, after multiple times of jumbling the scrambled letters, he goes: “Is this allowed?” and typed in: “ILY”. And you replied: “what does that mean?” then he said “nothing, forget it”.

It was then that later on you realized that it was the loveliest three-words ever made. Little did you know that that was it, busted. Awww. How you wish there were tutorials on online abbreviations, but there wasn’t any, so you didn’t get it, and you didn’t reply in a way that you were supposed to, in a way that you wished you have.

….It happens.

It's a Small world afterall

First year's over and I'm up for a new year in UST.

It's amazing to find that with just my first year in College, I met a lot of people, knew names, and at least recognize new faces. A thousand of them maybe or if I am just exaggerating its numerical values then a hundred of them is sure I've met. I read Mitch Albom's The Five People You Meet in Heaven and I found it interesting that even people whom you do not even knew the name can make a big impact in your life, in some ways and how people are connected to each other. For instance, a rich person to a beggar, a celebrity to a fan and many more examples if you may think. But it is more than that. In College, I was amazed how I meet people from the past and meet them in the future as well. What do I mean? I need not to elaborate. I just find it amazing that people are really connected in some ways, somehow. Your brother may know your crush by heart, your cousin turn out to be your classmate's ex-girlfriend, your parents and your profs maybe classmates when they were still in HighSchool..Sounds familiar? This is just a typical scenario on how people are connected. True enough, wherever you may go be it across the globe or just downtown you may find someone you knew or you do not know but has a connection to you. Like when I went to Tagaytay, was surprised that my Uncle knew my schoolmate's family, when I went to Japan I knew kids of my age which were actually my aunt's friend's children and just recently when I went to HongKong I found a schoolmate's sister. This is no destiny, as I thought at first, but this just a way how people are connected. We may not be all related by blood but we are bound by our race, cultures, beliefs and commonalities. At the end of the day, we just find ourselves dumbfounded thinking that it's really a small world.

heart-BREAKING DAWN

HEART-BREAKING DAWN

HEART-BREAKING DAWN it is..

After those series of unfortunate events that I've gone through, I'm still thankful I'm still here and back to blogging.(for now) It has actually been exactly 4 months and 2 days since my last entry and I'm sorry to disappoint you that this entry has really nothing to do with TWILIGHT SAGA or whatever it is affiliated with the title, I just feel that it fits my mood right now. Melancholic yet gratified after all.

Why melancholic, unfortunate and why heart-breaking dawn? Do I sound like an 'emo chic' in here? Well, I hope not. haha! It is not something serious though, looking back months
ago I just felt melancholic. I mean, starting College was such a big adjustment and I've had like tons of first time experiences here. Before, after having my phone robbed, commuting was hell. I cannot even go to school without any companion, but as it is I need to learn something from it. I met a lot of people and some turn out to be my friends now, others just acquaintances that may also be a friend someday. I'm glad about what freedom College and AB gave me. It was my first time to go home so late for being stuck on traffic, first time to meet UAAP players, first time to watch Pep Rally, Have PE class with awesome groupmates, Frozen moments and Scary happenings, Be part of a community which share a unique camaraderie as a THOMASIAN. "One for UST" as they say, what a school spirit I yearned just with this semester. Every time I go to school having jeepney ride and entering RM. 215 it was as if my day is just starting, it is so unpredictable but at the end of the tiring day it was always fun to be in that section "1JRN3". As the story goes, the semester gave me perks that helped me during my adjustment period as a froshie but it's not always a happy experience in reality, there are 'unfortunate events', I am a human not exempted from this kind of events, I am not a Dean's Lister for my own fault, I was not able to report on a class day and that gave me my first wonderful grade "3.0". Of course I'm thankful that I passed but I can't take off the thought that I slept 3 am every time I do hardcore reports or projects and I squeezed and gave out every effort I have on my system so that I'll have good grades but things can't always go my way, maybe I deserve what I got or maybe I do not but I know God is there to give justice to what I deserve and to what is really planned for me.

Sure disappointments are heartbreaking and brings me to despair but it could also be a step to moving forward. There are millions or infinite reasons enough to be thankful for and for me to be happy. Every bit of thing takes time and effort, even waking up does. Today is the breaking dawn as the semester has ended. The Chapter 1 is closed and cannot be edited for it has already been published, tomorrow is something to look forward to, it is the "NEW MOON" of my life. Wish me luck for my enrollment and clearance tomorrow, I guess it is hello 2nd sem!

Time of my life.

After "total-none blogging days, weeks and months", finally, I'm back to blogging.

This would be the first for '08. (err.)

So, what would I be blogging about? eh?

This could be about the essence of David Cook's winning song in the recent American idol which was titled "Time of my life". Once again I'm here relating my life to a song. (Now, you probably knew how addicted I am to MUSIC. ;p) So here it goes, March was a blast for me. I mean really I had a lot of 'firsts' that month though it also signals 'bye byes' and happy ending.

March 1. The first concert I ever watched. Not that I haven't seen some international or local acts perform on mall tours and such live but it's still different to be on a dome where crowds are hyped with unexplainable energy. I still won't regret my decision of giving up a day of working on my thesis and exchanging throat and heart throbbing moments while waving my hands way up high with Ne-yo's Because of You concert. Singing out loud sure is way better than squeezing the nerves of my brain for my thesis. (C'mon! put your hands in the air! haha.) I wonder how my batchmates felt cramming that day while I was having the time of my life at the big dome. (Envy me! Kidding =D)

March 29. Commencement day.
It feels so good to graduate as one of my alumna friends said. I totally agree. A million percent more. It's like you were attending the grammy awards in Hollywood and you're one of those nominees for the night. Emotions are stirred from the preparation. grad practices. royal march and till you reap the fruits of your labor, getting your diplomas. (Ahhh...nothing compares to it.) It was a joyous moment for everyone except the fact that we're saying bye bye to our home for 12 years. Our comfort zones. But as for me, it doesn't really matter. Memories would still count the most for it is a history made, never will it change.

This June, as I recall those memories: hellos and bye-byes. I open a new chapter, my College life, which I yet haven't conquered. More so, I'm looking forward to a "new time of my life".

Year-end special.

Crap. I miss blogging. It's been months since the last time I blogged.

Sadly, this will be the year-end special. I just don't know if time permits and I'll have a part two of this one.

Anyways, 2007 had put me to extreme ups and downs,
and no Mr. Webster or any dictionary can define what I've been through this year.

Happy. Sad. Freaky. Weird. All the emotions a human can take, I think I've felt it all.

The littlest things that made up my year were like the greatest ones and the things I thought were not enjoyable like having a 3-day retreat without my beloved gadgets (it felt like I'm inside the Big Brother house at least for three days and two nights, though I don't really know how to live there), joining a school contest--the radio broadcast thing (I was just forced, luckily, we won.) and doing a newspaper (I liked it. But..it's such a tedious job. Good thing we've finished it, hard earned fulfillment I guess).
Having a digicam (whew! finally!). Having new friends. Trying new things. and the list goes on.

I also had like tons of switch of luck. The reason behind not having to blog is one. Phone's off for like a couple of months and it made a great impact. My cell phone got reformatted, (Sob. I cried over stuff I lost, hadn't recovered it though. Loss of my two grandfathers (My Tatay Erap and Lolo Edgar, life's too short indeed.) and regrets with things, too bad.

But all of those were something to be grateful about, lessons learned. I have to face a new one and have to change anew whatever it takes.

A sweet good bye 2007!

I have to say hello to 'o8. Good luck for me.=)

People are people.

I definitely agree that this line is so true.

We set high standards on things, on people and almost everything.
We fail because of our weaknesses and we simply are just human beings--entitled to commit mistakes.

And so we strive to be someone who's better, perfect to please everybody in any aspect we see it.
But the truth is we're IMPERFECT people and we can't please everybody no matter how we tried so.
We should be real, and not be pretentious because then we'll see perfection.
With being real, since we are brave enough to accept who we really are.
For me, that's the best thing of being a human. We are imperfect yet we seem to seek for perfection that is actually only within our inner selves.
We just have to look deep down then probably every emptiness would be filled by realizing the truth within us.

People are people, once again, and they would always remain that.

Thousand of things I've realized.

If ever you found yourself staring blankly at the walls surrounding you and you're getting bored and lame then suddenly you hate the world because of the feeling of"blankness" you are experiencing then stop, take a second,

breath.

ponder on the things you are to be grateful about.

look ahead.

let go of the things that are not meant for you.

move on.

take chances.

feel free.

love life.

Recently, I'm getting too pessimistic about my life, failing, thinking of getting bad grades, being scolded for many times, sleeping late, hating things, stupid thoughts. 2007 was not my year, I knew. From the very start it seems that things are not going my way and I have to contradict whatever bad luck it may bring. I have to start with myself, self discovery and contentment I guess.

First I have to let go of the bad things I perceive, regrets, hatred and the things I can't have as always. I've learned to let go of them, little by little. Actually now I'm taking it as a process. Better than to be bitter. I was browsing a newspaper once when I was struck by a quote that says:"To be happy you have to forget about the good things you've done for others and the bad things others have than to you." That would be hard to do if your ego is taking control but that is the best way to be happy in my opinion.

In my quest for contentment I've come to realize that simple things in life are the ones that counts the most. Best things in life are free indeed. A simple thank you, a tap on your back, a hug, a smile, a text message, your favorite TV show, your favorite music, a phone call, people close to you and the ones who mattered the most, a prayer and countless of reasons more. Everything, that is to be thankful for.

Maybe this year was not made for me,but I know things happen for a reason. Whatever God plans for me would be better, as long as I have my family and friends with me and as long as I'm contented with who and what I have, I'm happy. I'm alive and I'm complete.
