Mark Twain

Yesterday, November 30, this was on Google as the world celebrates Samuel Langhorne Clemens a.k.a. Mark Twain's birthday. And I am reminded of a friend who's really a big fan of him but no, I'm not going to blog about that.
I just thought that it's cute how Google logo reminds us of events with their artsy tribute or whatnot and it left me wondering who are the people behind those themed logos. Random thoughts. Happy birthday, Mark Twain!
We thank you for The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.
Today is December 1, the end of the year begins. I'd just like you to know. Nothing parallel to Mr. Twain.

On repeat.
Taya- Up Dharma Down
Kagabi
di matapos-tapos ang
nobelang binubuo
sa mumunting isipan ko
Kakitiran
namimilit pang mangatuwiran
Iniipon ang mga pagkakataon
sa isang sulok at
pinagdurugtong dugtong
Dugtong (dugtong)
Kapit (kapit)
Kabig (kabig)
Palit (palit)
Huli na
ang lahat
para bawiin ang hindi nararapat
Anu ba? umayos ka
Wala nang magagawa sa
nahulog na tayong dalawa
at tayong dalawa
Urong (urong)
Sulong (sulong)
Urong-sulong na lamang ba?
Sakit (sakit)
Bakit (bakit)
Bakit ako na lamang ang natitira?
Kasalanan mo ang lahat nang 'to
Bakit ako ang pinapag ba-bayad mo?
Kasalanan mo nang lahat nang 'to, oh~
Nagtataka ako, bakit siya ang pinili mo?
Been raping the play button of my Kindle and Itunes just because I'm getting addicted to this song. Just like when I got addicted to their songs 'Oo' and 'Tadhana.'The lyrics hit me like a bomb, the melody is relaxing and just perfect for my chillax afternoons. This song has been on my play-list for a long time now, but haven't listened to it closely like now. You know what happens when I get addicted to a song, the play count on my Itunes will just grow and grow in number and the lyrics stays in my head for too long. That also happened some time in February when I got in love with Sugarfree songs, good thing I got over it now but I still listen to it from time to time. Just thought I'd like to share this. Notice the lyrics I italicized I love them words. Check out the music video as well, it's cool. Kudos to UDD! I'm a fan. \m/

Surprise, surprise!
In an hour and 5 minutes I will turn 20.
(At least when I drafted this post. January 21)
My college friends love surprising friends who celebrate their birthdays. When I was about to turn 18, some of them attempted to surprise me. You know, just the usual. My crush as their gift, but of course they failed so until now I haven't received any surprise, not even once. Because I warned them that I hate surprises. I have this weird anxiety attack (Which I hate but keep on happening at the most unexpected times of my life, ugh.), even though the thought of seeing my crush on that special day makes me want it more, I just can't. I might get frozen or what. Nearly heart attack perhaps, oh well. My nervousness really is annoying and exaggerated and I don't want that to happen in front of the man of my dreams. Who wants that to happen anyway? It's shameful. But given the chance I listed the 10 surprises I would like to be prepared for me, on my birthday or on Valentine's Day. I know these are really impossible things to ask, but this is just me and my playful imagination. Plus these really are intended to be impossible. Who knows? It might just happen.
1. Wake up and see my love on my bedside holding a bouquet of flowers and a big bear and see trails of roses on my room traced with the sentences "Happy birthday" or "I love you." --Cheesy, I know. But it takes a lot of effort. And I'd surely appreciate anyone who'd be brave enough to do that. But first, you should ask for my parents' permission because it's our house anyway.
2. Be given a book which has a ticket to Paris inside or a concert ticket of my favorite artists would do. --That would be so lovely.
3. Come home from school and have a surprise birthday party with all the people I miss.-- This is cliche, I like it just like in the movies. I just want to know how it feels like if it's happening to me.
4. Enter a roomful of my favorite things and food from my favorite people.
5. A video with all the birthday greetings from my favorite people, crushes etc.
6. Get a call from everyone whom I haven't seen in ages. From my favorite people.
7. Have someone sing me my favorite songs on stage if possible. Like that on TV, whenever they surprise celebrities.
8. Receive tons of love letter from my favorite people.
9. Have a dance with all my crushes. --I sound like I'm 18 here. HAHAHA!
10. Be taken to that lovely place somewhere down south and have a candle lit dinner wit my love. (That place will remain secret, though.)
Some are just impossible. One, I don't have a love. Second, some are just too expensive. And some take serious effort and time. Too golden that you would not want to expect.
P.S. I'd love to have a ride on a hot air balloon with someone. Someone who I don't know yet.
Now make that the 11th surprise.

Let it be
"Sometimes it is better to let things happen rather than insisting on how you want them to be done."
I got this message from a friend, didn't realize he sent it twice until I tried deleting messages from my inbox and saw it. He sent it on different months but it only made sense just now.
People say we should not let things happen because we make things happen, I beg to disagree. It's not at all times that we can make things happen, sometimes we try hard to make things work yet it's still not enough. It sucks really. I sometimes wonder if it's only a challenge so one can have what he/she really deserve. But what if you've already done too much? Ain't it a sign that what you want is really not for you? I'm sorry, I don't have the answer either. I'm trying to figure it out as well. I'm currently reading Paulo Coelho's The Alchemist and there's this part which can be related to this. The main character Santiago is in search of his destiny and his dream but life's being too hard on him. The question now is it time for him to give up when he's nearing his destination? or Will he strive hard even when there's no certainty that his dream will come true? It all boils down to risking once again.
It's like he tries everything to make things work, it's been doing good, then when he's finally nearing completion, something happens and ruin things. It's like he's against all odds. It may not be about perfect timing because everyday he try yet it's still busted. Then he decided that' it's about time to surrender and just let things be. Maybe it's a good joke of fate. Nobody knows.
It's still an open-ended question. I'll leave it hanging until I found the right answers.

Random mumblings
My calendar says October 28.
It means today is enrollment day (I just enrolled earlier), Second sem is just around the corner, Semestral break's about to end (Oh no, oh yes!) and there are only three days left before November starts.
Happy Halloween, guys!
I've been MIA for months, and like the usual I'm here again blogging because I have been busy and I felt the urge to write again. Writing not because I need to, but because I want to. There are many things going on in my head right now. It's 11:31 pm on the clock and yet my senses are wide awake. (Probably, slept too much) I just feel like writing. Random. This time it's not about me updating you with my life. I just write whatever comes out from my thoughts which were lately, only in my head. I promise I'm going to post this before 12 midnight, because if not I guess it's not October 28 anymore. And I totally know it didn't made any sense.
It's ironic how my thoughts flow yet I can't put them into words. Maybe this is what they call 'cluttered-brain'. Well, yeah, I'm thinking maybe that's it.
Have you ever felt you think too much? I do. Always. People. Things. Food. Philosophies. Ideas. Dreams. Anything and everything. I actually think I over analyze things, like on simple decisions. I just realize how I think too much. Say for example a simple choice whether what to wear on this and that takes time.
Red? Pink? Black? What color? T-shirt? Dress? Pants or skirt? What if it didn't fit to the occasion? What if someone wears the same? Is it tacky? Do I look good in it?
Questions go on and on and the more questions and answers I have, the more confuse I get. They say life is complicated. I think it is too. But they were right when they said that we're the only ones who complicate things. If we only learn how to not care, then decision-making will be easy. Maybe we're afraid to make certain choices because we are scared of the outcome. Life is always a risk. We'll never know if we'll never try. Sometimes I think that it's better to not risk. You won't get hurt. Wise decision? No. It's just a safe one. You're not bound to get hurt or any but you'll never be happy either. So what am I saying? Ah, I just thought that in risking we may see good and bad. We will. Been there, done that. Whether it's a good thing or a bad thing is not on our control. We just have to savor it, after all it is our decision. Don't regret if your decision fails, it's a good thing that you tried and risked. It made you wiser and gained you experience anyway. Life is always hard. It will never be exciting if it is easy as we want it to be.
Five minutes left before 12 am, so I am ending this now. Don't know if I made any sense or if I helped or tickled your neurons with what I wrote. In all honesty, I'm not sure why I wrote that, because like I said I just let my hands type the words in my head. Let me just say that I am no wise at life, I fall down too, but those are just my realizations that I just felt like sharing.
Today is October 28. And it's been three years since. Three long years. What this means is for me to know and for you to find out.

Last Tango, then Paris
I bet you know what just happened if you are a Gossip Girl addict.
Right, I just watched the Season 3 Finale of the scandalous lives of Manhattan's elite. And yes the title is "Last Tango, then Paris". Wild guess on Season 4? Yup yup, Some scenes will be taken in Paris. I.CAN'T.WAIT.TO.SEE.THAT. For real. I mean, really. Okay enough, it's in its nth power exaggeration already, too much hyperbole.
So about the finale, one word: TRAGIC. Everyone ended up heartbroken all because of Little J. And with the jaw-dropping ending, Chuck Bass just can't die. Gossip Girl without Chuck Bass is taboo. I can never imagine that, especially now that Chace Crawford (Nate Archibald) got arrested (in real life). That just can't happen. Will join boycott if ever. Make Chuck Bass alive! After all Chuck Bass is Chuck Bass, and everybody loves him, without a doubt. Kill anyone but not him, they already killed Bart Bass. But on second thought that would be the magic of Season 4, turn things upside down with its shocking twists. I'm hoping it'd be a good one. It should be an exciting one, the return of Georgina Sparks, Single ladies Blair and Serena Jenny leaving, Paris, Dan going to Prague? Death of Chuck Bass? One new spectacular season. If ever Chuck's strong character would be gone, it surely won't be forgotten. So much of the girls who cried for him and who will cry if that happens. September 2010, xoxo Gossip Girl, bring it on!

"And all in the instant everything changes, we leave the past behind and speed toward the unknown, our future. We set out for far off places and try to find ourselves, or try to lose ourselves exploring pleasures closer to home. The problem start when we refuse to let change happen and cling to old habits, but if we hold on to the past too tight the future may never come." -Gossip Girl

Hmm, Watcha say?
I am never good at anything. I'm not good in writing, sports, academics, public speaking, not good on everything artsy nor do I have a talent on dancing, singing or acting. I'm just a plain old Jane without a talent, maybe I do have but I haven't discovered it yet. Sometimes I wonder if this is normal. I mean not having something your good at, I wish I could excel on something because it sucks not being good at something. It's all average. Monotonous. But I do not hate myself for that, I still love me because I know I've been trying on fields I'm interested at. I still consider myself extraordinary because I may not be the best but I try. At least I do. At least I'm not that useless. Ha, seriously. You know what I mean. And you've seen them already, through my blogs and doodles.
Here's one of the things I'm interested at aside from writing, photography. I'm not joining the bandwagon of Digital Photography nor do I consider myself a photographer because I am not. I am no pro, I am only a photo-hobbyist. And I don't even consider myself good at it because I am just an amateur here. I do not even have any profile to show you either. I just take photos because I wanted to, sometimes it's vanity, sometimes it's for pleasure, sometimes I just have to and sometimes I just feel like doing so. I'm passionate about it like that. In fact I started taking photos at a very young age, even before I had my own camera at the age of 11.
The first camera I ever had was a Film Compact Lens-Shutter camera (not-so-famous brand, I can't even remember the name). I got it when I once stayed in Japan for a vacation, the prize I've won from playing bowling I think, or was it because of a catalog promo? I can't remember either. We also had this black Canon Compact camera back in the 90's but it wasn't mine really so I did not get to use it very often. All of those were film so it was kind of costly, although, it's much better because you can see the real quality of the pictures. The second camera I got was a Polaroid which was a gift. It's not the usual Polaroid with white outlines, the ones my camera produces are photos with designed outlines. It comes in a very small size almost that of a 2x2 picture. Then came the age of Cell phone cameras which I've utilized very much for my daily documentation of vanity, events and whatnot, I am using them until now. The next was my 2-year old Sony Cybershot T70. With this camera, I took a lot of photos, thousands of them. I also took worth-taking videos. I love this camera because it has a lot of features, it's also pink, just saying. If you want to edit photos you can do it straight from the camera, you can even doodle on photos you've taken. The first time I put my hands on it, I found it hard because the language set was Japanese but later on I got used to its functions. It's one of my favorite gadgets. Also, I've had a lot of memories with this camera, concerts, trips, etc. that's why I treasure this one very much. I liked digital photography because of it, taking photos became cheaper because you can just store the photos in memory cards or PCs, although we all know there are pros and cons that comes with it. Finally, the latest camera I own is this Nikon D5000. My first DSLR, I never thought I'd have one. I named it Percy Jackson and I am his Grover, the protector.(OMG, I'm so corny!) I'm trying to discover its features yet because it's kind of new and the manual book was again in Japanese good thing the language settings was in English otherwise I'd be dumbfounded again. So far I'm loving it.
I love taking random subjects, from fireworks, sunsets, clouds, flowers, things, people to places, but what I love taking the most are bokehs. Bokeh is the "aesthetic quality of the blur in out-of-focus areas of an image, or the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light." as defined by Wikipedia. I've always found them beautiful. I wish I can take good quality pictures with bokeh-effect. I've been practicing this art now, but I am also waiting for Christmas season because this is the season of lights, which means more bokehs to take.
So far, here are some of the bokehs I took:
(@ NLEX)
And these are the most recent ones, from the point of view of my Uncle's rooftop in Bulacan:
I'm so obsessed with bokehs that I don't even understand why. I found them romantic and very creative. I'd be posting another set once I've taken ones which I think is good enough. Gracias!

One, Twenty-one guns
21 guns. It kept playing on my head. Perfect background song while riding Wild River.
Oh yes, you got it right, that was the background song playing while I mustered a thousand dose of courage to face my fears riding that Wild River ride on Star City last night. I was never into extreme rides, you can never enjoy my company when you’re with me on a theme park because Ride-all-you can tickets aren’t just my thing. I just rode extreme rides back in 2002, at Disneyland and Universal Studios just because I had no choice. My aunt was a hustler on rides and I just followed her, Jurassic Park and Inidana Jones were my favorites back then. Although the T-rex scared the hell out of me. Man, it was totally huge && he swallowed us alive! (lol) Anyway, Going back, last night, I tried to conquer my fear and I rode that Wild River ride to make the most out of 2009 even when I believe I cannot. And even though I thought I’d die of fear. (I know, Over-acting, but it’s really a big deal) Although, I feared a lot, in the end I now knew I can. I just have to swallow 1000 milligrams of courage pills and I’ll get over it. Yes, it was a rewarding experience especially because I’m one of those crazy scaredy cats you’ll ever meet and a simple ride like this is nothing but an achievement. (Shallow, but true. Seriously.)

What happens when I'm bored
When you have nothing to do because it’s summer. Over-think. Oversleep.
Slack off. Grab a pen. Write your thoughts. Fill the spaces of your
paper. Talk it out like you’re on a real conversation. Sing a song to
hype up your mood. And to divert yourself from the heat. Eat healthy
foods, that you may not eat once the school year starts. Take pictures,
of people, of places, of things that captures your eyes’ desires. Walk
around and see the beauty outside your window. Move along. Lay down.
Close your eyes. Seize the moment. Breathe and smile for you are free.

Cycle of Life
I was not a fan of those “I will take the moon and the stars just to be with you” pick-up lines of a guy. I see no truth behind that anyway. Maybe I’m just too cynical to believe. There’s more to love than that. It’s not about receiving 3 roses and note cards with chocolates, not that candle-lit dinner even. Although, those are sweet, mushy, cheesy, moments any girl would not refuse to take. But I see love in the simplest ways, words uttered could not even compare to the feeling.
The blushing cheeks, the “I-can’t-stop-smiling feeling”, the “I-can’t-get-you-out-of-my-head thought”, the “awww moments” and the “I-can’t-live-without-you mentality”. It’s heaven I tell you. But one should never be attached, realizing that the more you get used to something the more it’s harder for you to let it go when it’s time to take away whatever you have that you can’t let go.
That’s the sad reality of not having forever, having change as the only thing constant. Plus the fact that people always leave, true enough. And what’s new right? We always have that someone who wishes to leave with or without reason, a friend, special someone, relative, family member, whoever. We just can’t force them to stay. Never. If it’s God’s will, things will just happen. We lose but we also gain in the process, we just have to get used to it and we must never forget them.
The cycle of life. You live, you love, you let go and you move on. People should never depend on somebody so it wouldn’t hurt in the end after all losing means having something new, who knows maybe that that something could be the thing that you always wanted?

It's a Small world afterall
First year's over and I'm up for a new year in UST.
It's amazing to find that with just my first year in College, I met a lot of people, knew names, and at least recognize new faces. A thousand of them maybe or if I am just exaggerating its numerical values then a hundred of them is sure I've met. I read Mitch Albom's The Five People You Meet in Heaven and I found it interesting that even people whom you do not even knew the name can make a big impact in your life, in some ways and how people are connected to each other. For instance, a rich person to a beggar, a celebrity to a fan and many more examples if you may think. But it is more than that. In College, I was amazed how I meet people from the past and meet them in the future as well. What do I mean? I need not to elaborate. I just find it amazing that people are really connected in some ways, somehow. Your brother may know your crush by heart, your cousin turn out to be your classmate's ex-girlfriend, your parents and your profs maybe classmates when they were still in HighSchool..Sounds familiar? This is just a typical scenario on how people are connected. True enough, wherever you may go be it across the globe or just downtown you may find someone you knew or you do not know but has a connection to you. Like when I went to Tagaytay, was surprised that my Uncle knew my schoolmate's family, when I went to Japan I knew kids of my age which were actually my aunt's friend's children and just recently when I went to HongKong I found a schoolmate's sister. This is no destiny, as I thought at first, but this just a way how people are connected. We may not be all related by blood but we are bound by our race, cultures, beliefs and commonalities. At the end of the day, we just find ourselves dumbfounded thinking that it's really a small world.

Vacation that was.
Few days from now I would be once again a freshie, and vacation would end then.
So, I would lovingly share of the vacation that was this year.
1. I practiced my strokes and underwater skills with my cousins.
2. I have celebrity encounters just with malling and international rapper Flo rida was one of those.
3. I read and finished about 5 books. (Whew! accomplishments again.) My favorites were Tuesdays with Morrie of Mitch Albom and Like the Flowing river of Paulo Coelho.
4. Enrolled and confirmed myself alone at the University of Sto. Thomas. (accomplishment for me because I'm so dependent, and yeah, I made friends.)
5. Practiced commuting with a couple of friends and with a lil help from my mom as well. (we actually did some kind of strolling at the mall and had our meriendas at BK.)
6. Celts vs Lakers. I heart KG and KB so I would be glad whichever team wins the playoffs.
7. DVD marathons and long boob tube viewing made my day for always. I loved CSI Las Vegas and Kyle XY.
8. Techie trip. what's summer without my trusty gadgets? BORING. But because I made use of it. (texting and phoning surely helps. haha)
there you go, the summer that was.
Btw, I heart the ad of Nescafe which explains my future life once I entered UST on Wednesday, Aliens everywhere.haha. I'm one of them. Good Luck.

People are people.
I definitely agree that this line is so true.
We set high standards on things, on people and almost everything.
We fail because of our weaknesses and we simply are just human beings--entitled to commit mistakes.
And so we strive to be someone who's better, perfect to please everybody in any aspect we see it.
But the truth is we're IMPERFECT people and we can't please everybody no matter how we tried so.
We should be real, and not be pretentious because then we'll see perfection.
With being real, since we are brave enough to accept who we really are.
For me, that's the best thing of being a human. We are imperfect yet we seem to seek for perfection that is actually only within our inner selves.
We just have to look deep down then probably every emptiness would be filled by realizing the truth within us.
People are people, once again, and they would always remain that.

"..We flyin' first class up in the sky, poppin' champagne living my life in the fast lane, I won't change by the glamorous.."-Fergie
It's definitely summer, baby! and what? all I can think of was TRAVEL, TRAVEL, and TRAVEL some more travel!
Traveling is my greatest indulgence and actually one of my greatest dreams was to travel around the world. Fun isn't it? that is a glamorous life, absolutely.
Anyway, because it is my passion I traveled a lot, and once I traveled alone literally, and it's in Japan by plane..though you may not believe it. (haha!)
Of course there I have companions like my aunt and uncle but then on the plane I was alone guided by a Japanese stewardess and at the airport, by bunch of Filipinos waiting to be all aboard. I love it. Though it keeps me sad since I was too young and afraid to be alone.
But the thing I love in my experience was just like Fergie I flew on a first class airline. Actually, I was at the economy class but the stewardess woke me up after a nap and transferred me to the executive class.Wow! I was astonished! It was awesome! And not only that, I felt like a celebrity, I really had a V.I.P treatment..yipee! During the take-off, they made sure that I will be the first one to step off the plane..and they even fetch me until the arrival area.
At the immigration they let me pass without falling in line, whatta life, V.I.P. treatment.!
Royalty indeed like I was just dreaming but all of that happened and I would definitely want to experience it again.

Bukas ulit. Ganun ginagawa ko araw-araw. haha! Sa Ingles tinatawag nilang "day dreaming" yun.

a 360-degree turn

They say that the only thing that's constant in this world is "CHANGE", well of course I believe in that, the fact that everyday, every minute and even every second I undergo that so-called "CHANGE".
I remember in my Science class when I was still a froshie there was a certain goal that man kept on seeking the maximum stability of change. Since then, I 've been used to that and strongly believed on that goal because I 'm a person who live by cliches, that sort of things and applying it in my complicated life.
Yes, I've said it, my complicated life, and why did I consider it as complicated? Let's just say it's because of the change that I'm talking about a while ago. My teenage life has been full of adjustments and the like, but nevertheless I have to be in that situation even though I don't want to because it's part of my destiny, my planned life. Right now, I'm still having those changes and I just can't seem to escape, maybe that's the reason why I said that my life's complicated. I know sometimes I was the one who gets too complicated but then again so is change. I'm not saying that I hate change because I know that in that way it somehow make people better. Yes, like in TV shows nowadays there's always a makeover thing, like the Ambush Makeover, just to make someone even more beautiful, physically speaking. But I'm not getting to my point 'cause you know right now I got a lot of things swirling in my head. Blah. I'm getting used to it. Just forgive me that my thoughts are not organized.
I'm having my 360-degree turn because of this confusing changes, I'm not yet prepared for everything that may come, but I seem to be and I have to for these are the only things that would make me tough. Make me who and what shall I be. A girl with an 'I-don't care attitude'. Wait. Lemme clear that, that I-don't-care attitude is what you should be if things go wrong. Did you get it? I don't think so. haha. =D I'm getting confusing again, so let me finalize what I want to say.
Life is full of nerve-wracking changes and I have to accept it though in the process I'm not prepared for what will happen I should just go with the flow and act that I know what to do or I should just take my time. Time is the best healer of all things plus a little laugh and a good help from heaven and I'm through with this troubling turn.

Addicted to "MEAN GIRLS"

I've never been sooo addicted to any movie like this.
I almost watched this flick twenty times already and I still want to continue watching it.
In HBO, I also watched it. At home I've seen this many times already.
With some of my friends, I watched it one time, but I guess this addiction still goes on.
I'm thinking maybe because I'm a Lindsay Lohan fanatic!
Yes, you heard it right. She's a great actress at a young age and I love her flicks especially this, "MEAN GIRLS"
I don't why, but I guess, it's simply because I can really relate to it that much,
You know what I mean?
It's about the complicated High School Life.
I'm in it now, and somehow, though it's hard to be part of that life, I can say that it's still
a moment to treasure.
It's full of everything and a mix of anything, and that makes it one hell of a great experience.
I'm just loving it. I guess the lesson here is you should always be happy with everything or anything because in anyway it's what's destined for us.. probably. Good or bad things, consider it a gift!

Be ready as the flight will be leaving soon To Dreamland,
Fasten your bedbelts..
Ready for take off..
That quote/text message has been passed through cellphones.
One proof that many of us while asleep believes that everyday we do dream.
I myself believe that, but sometimes when we wake up, we accidentally forget it. Often times we get caught up by it, because we really think that what we're dreaming about is real However when we wake up, we'll finally realize that we're really now in REALITY and that the dream we've had is nothing but a product of our sleep.
But whatever is real, I believe that dreams exist in every man's imaginative vision.
As a matter of fact, I collect dream-catchers, I'm not a fan of ethnic ambiance but because I think it helps me have my sweet dreams and a goodnight sleep, I do.
